I am going to a Spring wedding in America this month so I have been having a look for outfits to wear to the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. As I am sure you all know I am a sucker for floral prints but I have also picked out some plain dresses which I am going to accessorise with some bright jewellery and accessories.

Wedding Invite DIY
Last year I was maid of honour for my best friend, the day was magical and I was happy to assist her in the preparations in the run up to the special day. One of my jobs was making the invitations. We took a trip to our local hobbycraft and began the search for the perfect materials.
We took a swatch of the bridesmaid dress material and found a near perfect match for both the card insert and the ribbon. Next up was thinking about the design, we decided on something simple yet effective and I began cutting and scoring (so much fun!)
| Work in progress |
I didn't take lots of pictures of the finished invites I kind of got lost in the moment when making but the bride and groom were very happy with the finished results. I used a heart die cutter for the detailing and later on we added printed text to the card insert for all the important information.
Have you got any weddings coming up this year or are you getting married yourself? What do you think?

October
I havent done one of these posts for ages as I have been really snowed under over the last few months. I have been juggling running the business and starting my new course at uni which has been quite overwhelming. This week I have managed to get a good balance and I have time to get a few things done including updating the website with some new goodies. Here are some snapshots of the things I have been up to over the last few weeks.

Website Update
Hi everyone hope you are all well. Things have been non stop for the last few weeks with the denim lovers project with Selfridges, organising workshops, having a good stock clear out, getting ready for Uni in September, my best friends hen do and a week in the sun in Greece .... phew I think I need another holiday to get over it all!
I have just started reorganising my stock and the massive process of updating the website has begun. I have just restocked my one off hand made cards. The 'Something Old, Something New' range combines a mix of vintage materials and stitching to offer an alternative to the usual high street designs.
Over the next few days I am going to be photographing jewellery and hair accessories. My website is www.lauralovesboutique.com if anyone of you would like to pop over and take a look your feedback is always useful and welcome.

Laura Loves Weddings
Last week I attended a family wedding in Ireland. I had a fantastic time and for me it was the first wedding of the summer season, luckily the sun was shining and we had a fantastic day.
Over the last few days I have been looking online for some wedding perfect outfits and stumbled across the latest Warehouse collections. Here are some of my favourites as you will notice I love floral prints and I often use flowers and floral prints in my designs.

Laura Loves... Wedding Season
As it one year on from Kate and Williams wedding (I can't believe how fast time flies!) it is official we are now beginning wedding season. I am going to a family wedding in Ireland at the end of May and have been frantically searching for the perfect outfit. So far I have managed to narrow it down to one or two choices but I am still scouring the High Street's latest collections which I will be blogging about in the next few weeks.
My latest find is a dress from Primark which is priced at a very reasonable £17. I really love the shape and style of the dress, it is a beautiful orange colour and has a slightly pleated skirt.

The dress came with a belt but whilst I was shopping this weekend I picked up a gorgeous flower belt from H&M. I really love the collections they have in at the moment and they have just opened a store at a retail park near to my house which is really handy. The belt was only £6.99 and I think it really complements to shade and style of the dress.

I am going to team the outfit with some nude shoes and a gorgeous beaded bag I purchased from New Look last week.
I am also going to go fabric shopping this week for some fabric to complement the dress or accessories to make myself a fascinator. Last year I made a number of custom hair pieces for Proms and Weddings. I have included one piece which was designed for a Prom, I particularly loved this one as it included some vintage detailing. I will be uploading new designs over the next few weeks to my website and Facebook page.
