This week I have decided to choose the work of one of my talented artists, Louise Wright. I have picked this cat tote bag as I love the illustration.
I love cats and this bag is perfect for carrying around all the essentials. It is available in Mr Birds Emporium or online here.
A parcel arrived this week filled with some gorgeous brooches and cards by the very talented Bels Art World. I found Bel's work via Etsy and I loved her cute and quirky illustrations.
All pieces and much more are available in store now at Mr Birds Emporium and on my website.
What do you think?

I don't know about you but I am really looking forward to the weather changing and being able to enjoy some sunshine (fingers crossed).
I have been working on a range of large fascinator flowers after a customer asked me to make a custom head piece for a wedding she is attending in the summer. I have previously made fascinators for proms and days out at the races so I decided to combine previous pieces with my popular fabric flowers.
I can make designs in custom fabrics and sizes and prices will range from £8-£35 depending on size, detail and design. If you would like to discuss a customised design please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note pieces usually take 2-3 weeks to construct however I will try and produce items at shorter notice if possible.

As mentioned in lots of this months emails I have been adding more and more artists to the shop and we have an ever growing collection of independent artists and designer makers.
A few weeks ago at the Sutton Vintage Fair I stumbled upon Skinny Nib's stall which really caught my eye. I decided to contact them to see if they would be interested in stocking in store and online and I was really pleased when they agreed.
I now have a full range of their cards in store at Mr Birds and online on my website. I think you will agree that their unique designs are fantastic and much more interesting that the usual card shop offerings.

To celebrate St Patricks Day I decided to have my nails painted by the fabulous Amy from The Nail Lab in Mr Birds Emporium.
Amy is my super talented neighbour in Mr Birds, she specialises in hand painted nail art and her work is simply amazing.
Yesterday I decided to have some shamrocks painted on my nails and I am really pleased with the results.
Amy takes advance bookings or you can walk in and wait to be seen. If she is busy there is a comfy sofa on her stand where you can sit and look at the nail wheels to pick out your designs. Prices from a mini mancure start from £7, nail art starts from £1 per nail and she also sells stick on packs of nails which are a perfect to yourself or a friend. If you would like to see more examples or you would like to book an appointment head over to Amy's Facebook page. Here are some more examples of her work.

This week I have been busy adding more new artists to the shop. The latest one is a company called Something Old, Something new who specialise in making cards using mixed media. The cards usually contain a number of layers of fabric, paper and pretty images with added lace detailing.
Here are some examples of designs that are available both in store at Mr Birds Emporium and online on my website.

A few months ago I received a lovely email in my inbox asking me if I wanted to take part in a photo shoot. I was really excited to be involved and I was overwhelmed by the images that have been produced by a very talented team. We spent over 4 months planning the shoot exchanging emails and ideas daily.
I arrived at Mr Birds in the morning to be greeted by Jodanna who photographed and edited the images, Grace the super talented MUA and hairdresser and the stunning Jodi our model for the day. The changing room area was soon transformed into a dressing room and Grace got to work on hair and make up.
The trio braved the freezing cold temperatures in and around the Custard Factory and worked tirelessly for hours to produce some striking images.
I am really pleased with the outcome of the shoot and I think you will agree that the images are breathtakingly beautiful and show off my new Spring/Summer collection brilliantly. All contact details for the people involved in the shoot are available via my Facebook page.

Lucy and I are so pleased with the review and we really appreciated Emma taking the time to come and join us.
You can also read all about it on the papers website.
We are running a competition this week over on our Facebook page this week to win a place on one of our workshops worth £25. All you have to do is head over to the page and share the photo to win but be quick as the competition ends tomorrow!
